command-ZIt was between this and the Simmons, I elected to spend a bit more for the clarity. I'm happy I did, the glass is very clear. Eye relief is good, I was able to use it without taking of my glasses. 6 power magnification is great; no focusing feature, it's just clear. However, due to it's light weight and compact size, holding it steady on small objects past 200 yards can be literally shaky. Using some kind of rest or leaning against a retaining beam solved the shaky problem and I was able to range steel targets out to 420 yards, I didn't try to range rifle targets further out since I was only shooting 5.56 without magnification and had no spotter. Although I was able to range large objects around my neighborhood out past a little over 600 yards.

C. W.We absolutely love this range finder! We have had it just over a year and have had no problems with it so far. The only problem is that it is very hard to stabilize on an object because it is so lightweight and small built. But, for the same reason of lihht weight, we love how easy it is to pack and maveuver. I have recommended this unit to several family members that also hunt. I would say it is perfect for archery but may have to find its place for rifle Hunters at close range.

D. TurnerOne of the searches listed this product with a .1 yard accuracy, which I thought was great since others were either 1 yard or .5 yard accuracy. It has a 1 yard accuracy. Was disappointed in the lesser accuracy, but the device is very compact, fits in the hand well, and very readable readout with very quick measurement. So, even though it was 1 yd accurate instead of .1 yard accurate, it is still a very good device. The LCD overlay over an optical gives you a much clearer image than those that give you a screen to see through. Much more efficient in power consumption also. Only think I would change would make it feet instead of yards, since what I will use it for is all done in feet.

MT:)I had the opportunity to spend hours comparing the Sig Sauer Kilo 2200 to a Sig Sauer Kilo 2000 and a Leica 1600 during a recent hunt. The 2200 and the Leica 1600 were brand new and the 2000 almost new. I will not spend much time on the Leica, as it performed so poorly that we suspect the unit was defective. In fact, while it was optically superior to both the kilos, it ranged much slower and consistently failed to range even half (!) the distance of the kilos.
Yes
Amazon CustomerPurchased KILO2200 after using and older version borrowed from a friend. After inserting the battery, I stepped out onto the deck and ranged the opposite side of the lake we live on at 1200 yards. It is a bright day and I was ranging to the west into the sunlight. 1200 yds was the limit under those circumstances. A little later as the sun was setting I was able to quickly range a lake point at 1900 yards, a house further down the lake at 2500 yards and a private dock at 2800 yards. Looking forward to using it in the field deer hunting next weekend.
Yes
Amazon CustomerIt’s quick, consistent and so far I’ve used it at 1280 yards at a friends land for shooting targets.

Ken AndrewsGreat little range finder and a real bargain. But, before you buy be sure you understand what its intended for. I see where some reviewers complain that it didn't work at 350 yards on a Antelope or a bull elk 850 yards away. This is a 200 yard max range finder for deer and larger game animals. You can certainly range on other objects (trees, large rocks, buildings, signs, etc.) to get a good idea how far out your target is but you're still looking at 600 yards max. I hunt Whitetail with archery and a 30-30 in Northeastern Oklahoma where most deer are taken between 50 and 150 yards. I believe that's the sweet spot for this product. If you need more, if you expect more, plan to pay more.
Yes
Benji BeedleThis is perfect for the target shooting that I do. I know it's accurate up to 350 yards. Beyond that...I'm not sure. I shoot my 22 nosler at 300+ yards, and put my targets on a 2' x 2' box. It picks up that size box with no problem at that distance. There are better range finders out there, but they can be expensive. I use mine on a daily basis. It comes in handy around the house and neighborhood also. It takes the guesswork out.
Yes
CHRIS WMuch better than I expected for the price. The glass is clear and the range finder is accurate and repeatable. The farthest I've sighted an actual animal was 207 so I haven't fully stretched it out but for average hunting and sighting in it's been great.

Mr McCI was looking for a multi purpose rangefinder for everything from bowhunting to long-range precision shooting. I wanted something with accuracy on game-size targets at long distance and short. I also wanted to use it for steel targets at 1000+ yds.

Kevin S. QueenWow ! I did hours and hours of research online- mostly reading users reviews- I have 20 years of experience using rangefinders for hunting and golf and this rangefinder is outstanding.Yes
Jeff DavisHoly smokes this is a great range finder. I have ranged out to 1255 yards ( large granit rock) with ease. There is a road sign 708 yards from my front door. The sign is 4'x3' and it reads instantly. If i could fault anything its the red LED display washes out in the light. I really like this unit and it does way more the you would expect of $249.00 range finder. The seller shipped fast and it was securely packed as well. I really couldn't be happier with this product.

RVNHunterI've been on two hunts with my new crossbow and have killed 5 deer, and each and every one was ranged at least twice before I shot with my crossbow. The targets have been anywhere from 27 to 50 yards and every one was killed with one shot. Yes, my crossbow is dead on out to 90 yards, but I restrict myself to 50 yards. The only one I've missed this season, my first with a crossbow, was one I ranged and then he moved; rather than range him again I estimated his range and shot over his back! The deer in the picture was shot at 50 yards and yes, I ranged him three times before shooting.

The King Of allIv used this a hand full of times for target ranging for long rang shooting works great! Iv gone out to 800 yards. even tested it at the local range to see how accurate it is and its pretty dead on. Comes with a good case. I don't use it for bow hunting, but from what I can tell it works pretty good.

Martin L. CarsnerI use the rangefinder for golf. I had a Nikon laser rangefinder that stopped working at less than 2 years old. I sent it back to Nikon for repairs and they wanted $200 to fix it. I purchased the XRT for $98 delivered. I can buy 2 of these units for the same price as the repair to the Nikon. It is small and light and accurate to within 2 to 3 yards.
Yes
MikeI purchased this item at the perfect time. It had been marked down to $79.95 and had an additional $20.00 factory rebate. What a deal! I have been pretty pleased with it and it's simple to use. I use this for archery and it has performed well for me. I have however placed targets and used a 100yd. contractors tape to check accuracy finding this rangefinder to be exactly 1 yd. short every time. That is ok and certainly within its advertised accuracy. In lower lit conditions the display may be difficult to see since it is black and non illuminated. Overall for the money I am very pleased.
Yes
MikeGreat value for the price! Very durable and accurate. Compared readings at the archery range before using in the field. Ranged multiple distances from my tree stand and then accidentally dropped it 15 feet from the stand. Retrieved it (wouldn't work initially after the drop), reseated the battery (popped a bit out of place from the fall) and it worked great again, giving me the exact same ranges as before the drop. Highly recommend! Read out is a bit hard to read in very low light conditions, but other than that this thing is great, and a great value for the money!

SeanAfter sifting through plenty of reviews for this and other rangefinders, I was dying to try this one out after deciding to pull the trigger on it. It seems you can find a bunch of whiners and crybabies out there for just about every rangefinder on the market and they sure do a hell of a job mucking up product ratings and adding a healthy dose of confusion to the mixYes
Tony CBought to replace a Hawk LRF400 which I found difficult to see the range as it was displayed at the top of the screen. The Bushnell Scout is so much better I can see the range quite easily and I really like the fact that it shows tenths of a yard. I must admit that I'd had the advantage prior to ordering of trying a friends. It's just a shame that I had to order it from the USA to get a really good price rather than buying from Amazon UK. US seller was really helpful in keeping down international delivery and brokerage charges

Awesome, range finder. I got a great price on black Friday. This, really is a great all in one range finder. I bow and rifle hunt and think if you are buying a range finder this is the one to get. I love the 6x magnification. There are all kinds of electronic adjustments on this range finder, so much I will never use or remember how to use in the field. Make sure you get a manual, you are going to need it, I think there was a downloadable one on the bushnell website. I know that it's expensive, but well worth buying one on sale or a used one.

Sloop John BEverything that is advertised about the clarity and brilliance of the optics is true. Having a higher power (8x vs. the 7x of most other brands) and larger objective lens (26 mm) is one of the main reasons I chose the Zeiss. I love the brightness of the LED target and distance -- you can't really get a good impression of this from looking at the videos where they hold the device up to a video recorder. With viewing through the real unit, you will be impressed.

KmacLove at first sight! Optics are very bright and clear, just as one would expect from the Zeiss Victory line. Target acquisition is reliably fast. No issues ranging out to 1,000 yds.

Best Rangefinder Buying Guide

The reviews may excite you regarding the features of the varying rangefinders which are out on the market today. But choosing the Best Rangefinder is somewhat tricky; especially if you want to not be dissatisfied with what you’ll get.

Although it needs careful thinking and inquiries, choosing the rangefinder that is right for your needs may only rely on two major considerations.

Purpose

Firstly, one should be able to determine for what purpose you are buying your rangefinder. Different rangefinders are used in many different fields. And although their functionality may overlap with one another, a rangefinder built for a specific discipline will bring out more of its potential if it is used in that discipline.

For example, a rangefinder that is specifically made for bow hunting will function better if it is used for bow hunting.

Functionality

Lastly, before choosing among the many rangefinders, you should consider the different functions a specific rangefinder can offer. Choose the Best Rangefinder which can provide you with the type of aid that you need the most.
